Marjolein Delhaas

Marjolein Delhaas is a Rotterdam based graphic designer who strives to create work that is functional, but also attracts the eye. Her never-ending search for minimalism in layout, typography, paper and color results in work that can be described as raw industrial without ever losing a touch of refinement. Bold typography versus a thin elegant line.

The persistence to analyze, organize and create systems evolved in 2008 in an annual collection of pared down planners. A playground to experiment with different techniques and materials results in clear, graphic and functional everyday systems, which also serves as objects that are exquisitely beautiful.

Vegetable oil, soda, salt & water: the 162-year-old, 4-ingredient soap beloved throughout France. In 19th century Marseille, hundreds of mom & pop manufacturers produced the town’s iconic product — soap. Toay, Fer a Cheval remains the oldest Marseille soap factory to perpetuate its production using the age-old, 4-ingredient, 5-step recipe. The week-long process begins in a cauldron and ends with a taste test by a master soap maker. Their signature soap is pure, hypoallergenic, biodegradable, and economical.

Since 1837 Thieffry has produced timeless linens for the home in Roubaix, France near the border with Belgium. Each piece is made in Europe from flax to finish. Backed by 179 years of tradition and craftsmanship, these true Belgium linen pieces are a new family heirloom. Linen is stronger than cotton or wool. It is lint-free, non-static, doesn’t pill and naturally repels mold & moths. Linen air dries beautifully, gets softer with washing & is naturally hypoallergenic.
When you set the table this Thanksgiving, make a statement!
