Ninth Generation family member Claus J. Riedel revolutionized glassware, designing the first-ever “Sommelier” stemware collection with each glass crafted uniquely to the character of each wine. Family-owned in Austria since the 17th century, these hand-crafted Austrian crystal glasses are varietal-specific, meaning there is a specific glass for each wine region, designed + dedicated enhance the taste of that wine to its fullest potential. Insufficiently-sized glasses will cause various wines to have faults that they otherwise wouldn’t have, such as overly mineral, bitter, or harsh characteristics.
